The decision to apply to Canterbury Brook Academy of the Arts is ideally a long-term choice to match your child with the school in which you will believe they will have the most success over the course of their academic journey, no matter what stage he or she is in currently. Our admissions process was designed to give both applying families and CBA staff the ability to make informed decisions and form positive relationships from day one. Please see below for the steps and stages in the process to better understand your path from here:
Parents will fill out and submit an application to the admissions department of Canterbury Brook Academy of the Arts using the TADS system. This allows your entire application, all necessary documentation, and the $70 application fee to be submitted virtually. If you have any problem at any step within this process, please contact TADS directly. They offer real-time support to all parents, and they are always happy to provide you with assistance. Provided all necessary documents are properly submitted, you will hear back regarding this application within 30 days of applying.
In the meantime, your application will be carefully reviewed by CBA's faculty and staff. Through TADS, you will be contacted to set up a time for a tour if you have not already had one.
Once you have toured or spoken extensively about your family’s needs and the philosophies of our program with a CBA administrator, your child may be scheduled for a shadow day. He or she will spend the day as a CBA kid, experiencing our program. This is the final stage in our application process and necessary for acceptance. During summer months, an interview and peer meet & greet may be utilized instead.
After your child’s shadow day is complete, you will be contacted by CBA's staff regarding your child's potential acceptance. At this time, you will be prompted by TADS to fill out and submit all registration information. This digital paperwork includes:
~ The annual tuition contract, all of which will be operated through our FACTS system, allowing you to set up a system that works best for your family ~ Payment of the materials and registration fee through the tuition system ~ Log-in information for your child's Google Classroom, CBA email address, and any online programs necessary ~ The CBA Handbook contract ~ Information for our Health Office and Emergency Contact information ~ Updated IEP or 504 information to be uploaded where applicable
